Postdoctoral research position in the Linnaeus Programme: LUCID (Lund University Centre of Excellence for Integration of Social and Natural Dimensions of Sustainability).

LUCSUS is a faculty independent centre for education and research with 30 employees, of which about half are graduate students in Sustainability Science. Our education comprise an international masters programs LUMES (Lund University Master's Programme in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science) and the PhD programme in sustainability science. The research consists partly of the Linnaeus programme LUCID (Lund University Centre of Excellence for Integration of Social and Natural Dimensions of Sustainability) that LUCSUS coordinates 2008-2018. This job is funded by the LUCID programme.

Job specification:
We seek a person with a Ph.D. in one of the following topics: Human Ecology, Human Geography, Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, Political Science, Sustainability Science or Theoretical Philosophy. The thesis should be closely linked to research in the LUCID programme and focus on theoretical and methodological contributions to the integration of natural and social sciences in order to promote sustainable development.

Work duties:
The focus should be on research within the LUCID programme at least 80% as well as teaching at any institution within the LUCID consortium up to 20%.

Qualifications:
The applicant must have a PhD degree not older than 3 years at the application deadline, in the first place in any of the following topics: Human Ecology, Human Geography, Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, Political Science, Sustainability Science or Theoretical Philosophy. The doctoral thesis should be clearly focused on LUCID programme scientific goals and aspirations. These are described in LUCID’s Science Plan (www.lucid.lu.se). PhD degree with a comparable focus from other fields may also be considered.

Selection criteria are primarily scientific skills documented by scientific publications.

Theoretical and methodological breadth within the research fields mentioned above is also an advantage as well proven interest and ability to communicate both within and outside academia.

The application should be accompanied by a research plan of 5-8 pages demonstrating how the planned research is related to the LUCID science plan.
