The Faculty of Law is one of Lund University´s four founding faculties. The Faculty has approximately 2 000 students enrolled in first and second-cycle courses and programmes, around 160 staff members including 40 doctoral students.

Mainly research but work duties include teaching for up to a maximum of 20 percent of working hours.

The researchers and teachers at the Faculty are expected to contribute to a dynamic research environment as well as to other Faculty activities, and to perform work primarily in the workplace provided by the Faculty.


Project description

The successful candidate will join the major ongoing research project "Mutual Legal and Economic Conditions for Successful Integration” funded by the Family Kamprad Foundation.

The project will analyze economic and social rights and obligations for newly arrived persons, building on basic political goals of integration: equal rights, obligations and opportunities for all, regardless of ethnic or cultural background. The aim is to review the laws that affects integration directly or indirectly in the areas of economic contribution, the labour market and right to welfare, and to address it from economic and sociological and perspectives. Implemented and proposed rules will be evaluated by analysis of current law, underlying norms and values such as moral principles, human rights, and legal economic theories.

A person shall be qualified for appointment as a postdoctoral fellow who has been awarded a doctor’s degree in legal science or a degree deemed equivalent to a doctor’s degree in legal science. The doctor´s degree must be completed no more than three years prior to the application deadline.

Candidates who have completed their degree earlier than this can be considered if special grounds exist.


Assessment criteria

The assessment criteria for the current post are a good ability to develop and carry out research, and teaching skills. The primary focus of the assessment shall be on research expertise and on the applicants' suitability for participating in the actual project. Suitability will here be taken to mean good knowledge of jurisprudence, labour law, social welfare law or tax law, as well as good analytical skills, capacity for adopting broad perspectives and structural approaches, and the ability to work in large research teams..
