Job description
Lund University announces a permanent, fulltime position as senior lecturer in Business Administration, specialising in Organisation. The position entails research within the research areas in which the Organisation Studies group is currently active in order to maintain and strengthen the cohesion of the group, as well as teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching comprises a maximum of 70% of the post, and a minimum of 20% research and 10% administrative duties. However, the relative proportions of duties may change over time in line with access to external research grants.

The person is expected to conduct active advanced research within the area, which also includes active work in applying for external funding and developing collaborations with other university units and other Swedish and international organisations involved in this type of research. The person may be expected to take some responsibility for the collegial leadership of the department.

Eligibility
Those qualified for appointment as a Senior Lecturer are a person who has demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a PhD or has the corresponding research competence (according to the Higher Education Ordinance chapter 4, section 4). For this position the qualified applicants must have a doctorate in Business Administration or a nearby field.

It is a requirement to have completed at least five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means. In certain cases exceptions can be made from this requirement.

For academic staff at Lund University the general qualification requirements are to be suited to and having the general ability required to complete the duties of the post well.

Basis of assessment
Documented research skills are required within or in close proximity preferentially to several of the areas in which the Organisation Studies group is currently active. The applicant should describe current research themes and present a research plan for the next few years, and how this will contribute to the research at the Department. Scientific qualifications will be evaluated mainly based on quality and number of peer-reviewed scientific publications. The field of Organisation Studies is conceptually and methodologically broad, and we are looking for a senior lecturer with experience from research within the Critical Management Studies field. Experience of research within the Critical Management Studies tradition, including a qualitative, empirical approach, is particularly meriting.

Today, research and postgraduate studies at the University are largely based on the ability and competence of the individual researcher to obtain external funding. Hence, a capability to obtain research grants in national or international competition is a requirement.

Documented experience of teaching and development of new course curricula, at basic as well as advanced (including postgraduate) levels within the applicants’ own and adjacent fields are merits. Documented experience of supervision of Masters and PhD students is also a merit. Documented experience in communicating research outputs and societal impact are likewise merits.

Teaching experience within the Critical Management Studies field is particularly meriting, as is teaching within interpretive and critical traditions within Organisation and other subject areas within Business Administration.

In addition, importance will be attached as to how the applicant, through documented skills and experience, can strengthen and supplement the Departments´ research and teaching in this field.

The assessment of teaching expertise shall be given equal weight to the assessment of research expertise.

When making the appointment, consideration will be given to the Lund University Appointment Rules.

It is expected that any non-Swedish speaking appointee within a three-year period will master the Swedish language well enough to be able to teach and to communicate with the university administration in Swedish.
